Hi everyone! We have had lots of messages, questions and concerns over these last few weeks from patients, neighbours, friends and family. Hopefully this post will help as much as possible in clarifying some things. You are welcome to MESSAGE US ANYTIME on Facebook and we can help guide you along through these times. This is a helpful guide, if you have pain, swelling or a dental issue please message us and see a Dentist for your oral health needs and an actual clinical diagnosis.

ARE DENTAL OFFICES CLOSED?

NO! We are OPEN and considered "essential" for ALL REGULAR appointments. This includes dental cleanings, fillings, implant placements, denture fabrication, and emergencies.

DO YOU HAVE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS?

YES! We have advanced safety precautions in place that conform to multiple organizations including dental and public health regulatory bodies. We have advanced cleanings completed in the office in between patients and our staff are enforced with PPE.

DO YOU TAKE NEW PATIENTS?

YES we do, contact us on Facebook or email for more information. You don't have to be a patient for us to help you!

DO YOU TAKE ODSP?

YES we do, we do our best to help our community including those in need who have ODSP coverage.

WHAT CAN I DO AT HOME FOR MY ORAL HEALTH?

WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE TOOTH SENSITIVITY?

WHAT IF I HAVE A BAD TOOTHACHE?

If that is not enough, message us for a stronger prescription.

WHAT IF I CHIPPED A TOOTH?

Be gentle on it! Avoid hard/crunchy foods. If the gums/tissues are sore around it, consider a salt water rinse or a diluted tea tree oil rinse (ask us for more details). Keep area clean and healthy. IF its really annoying, try "dental wax" often available at local drug store. Message us for more details. Call us for an appt!

DO NATURAL REMEDIES WORK?

YES, there are many natural remedies that go a long way in helping mild pain/swelling/discomfort. Clove oil, tea tree oil, salt water are excellent aids for certain ailments. Don't rely only on these however. Message us for more details. Call us for an appt!

SHOULD I GO TO A HOSPITAL?

Its best to avoid a hospital as much as possible during these times, try calling TELEHEALTH Ontario (1 866 797 0000) or your FAMILY MD first. Hospitals are over-whelmed with the COVID-19 situation so it truly needs to be a major emergency. We often prefer dental emergencies to be dealt with by dentists and reduce the loads/burdens on our hospitals!

WHAT IF ITS LIFE-THREATNING AND URGENT?

If you have a dental emergency that has resulted in difficulty breathing, significant fever and major visible swelling. This can be life-threatening and you likely will need IV ANTIBIOITICS and urgent care at a hospital.

We hope everyone stays informed, stays safe and practices what everyone recommends: good hygiene and social distancing. WE ARE HERE TO HELP. We hope to see you soon and get you smiling again!

Dr. Rami Majid and Staff ♥️
